Medicare's Nursing Home Compare
Medicare has created this database of information from the annual state inspections of nursing homes. The site provides general information statistics on the residents of each home, and the homes' overall inspection ratings. This site is the complete authority on how nursing homes rate. However, the site does not reference violations found during investigations of complaints.

Medicare's Useful Contact Page
Medicares Useful Contact Page contains links and phone numbers to important information about nursing homes. The site includes contacts for each states ombudsman's office or your states survey agency for the most current information about a nursing home, which will provide more detailed information about specific nursing homes than the general Medicare site can display.

Nursing Home Info
Listing virtually all nursing homes nationwide, this site provides a facility search using city/state entry or point-and-click map search. A nursing home provides skilled nursing care and rehabilitation services to people with illnesses, injuries or functional disabilities. Most serve the elderly, however, some facilities provide services to younger people with special needs such as the developmentally disabled, mentally ill, and those requiring drug and alcohol rehabilitation.
